Collaborative Research
Access multiple user facilities at one location
Users at the CNM can also access Argonne’s four other user facilities for multimodal and cross-functional projects. The CNM works with its partner user facility, the Advanced Photon Source (APS), to provide access to world-leading and unique characterization methods. As a principal component of its mission, the center capitalizes on the brilliance of the APS for a Hard X-ray Nanoprobe beamline.
Advanced Photon Source
The Advanced Photon Source (APS) at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory provides ultra-bright, high-energy storage ring-generated X-ray beams for research in almost all scientific disciplines.
Argonne Leadership Computing Facility
The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility provides supercomputing capabilities to the scientific and engineering community to advance fundamental discovery and understanding in a range of disciplines.
Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System
The prime national facility for nuclear structure research, the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS) is the world’s first superconducting linear accelerator for heavy ions at energies in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier.
Atmospheric Radiation Measurement User Facility
ARM is a multi-platform scientific user facility with instruments at fixed and varying locations worldwide for obtaining continuous field measurements of atmospheric data. Argonne manages the Southern Great Plains and ARM Mobile Facility 3 observatories.
